With my recent exploration into the cyanotype process, I am continuing my investigation into mark-making using mass produced everyday objects, in this case rubber bands. The paper is coated with photo-sensitive cyanotype chemistry, and then the rubber bands are placed on top of the paper, all in complete darkness. This is then exposed to sunlight and processed with water. The individual shapes are dictated by the rubber bands, but the overall compositions have an element of chance due to creating them without light.
